The Early Season is Special
Fishing in the early season is a combination of relief from a long winter and preparation for the new season that is ahead. While I enjoy getting out with a rod in hand, I love the warm sun, the smell of spring in the woods, and sitting on a rock and watching the life of the river. Catching a fish- that's a bonus!
I watch the river flow, the early season insects, and the occasional evidence of a fish. The first part of the season is much more about escaping the confines of winter than the number of fish I catch, but... each one of them is a prize! |
