Happy June!! Make a big note - June is Adopt-A-Cat Month and boy do we have a bunch of fabulous, furry, felines that would love to be part of your family. Throughout the month of June we will be sending home a care package (details below) for all cats that are 6 months or older. Our adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, vaccines, flea and tick preventative, and a free initial wellness check up (with select Veterinarians). So, please come in to visit our feline friends and if you meet someone you can't bear to go home without, well, that's one more Happy Tail story we'll be thrilled to share!

We would like to thank everyone who helped make Pet Walk 2011 another successful event for the animals at PARL! Thanks to all of you we were able to raise over $50,000 to help us continue to provide compassionate care to the thousands of animals in need each year.
Blue skies and hundreds of happy dogs were the perfect recipe for a great day in the park. ...And how about that costume contest this year? There were some SUPER pups who pulled out all the stops when it came to creative costuming! What a hard decision is was for our Judges, WPRI Channel 12's Susan Roberts and Nini Silva from CHI. Bet you can't wait to see what theme we come up for next year!

 During the month of June, we celebrate all of the pleasures of sharing your life with an adult cat. At PARL, each cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccines, wormings, flea & tick preventative & a Veterinarian visit but during June, all cats 6 months or older also go home with a complimentary "Welcome Home" Package! It includes a large plastic litter box, stainless steel litter box scoop, two stainless steel food/water bowls, 3oz. bag of Greenies treats, an assortment of cat toys (& a lifetime of love!) Happy Tails
fezzik's happy tale
 Hello All at Parl:
I am long, long overdue for an update on our much loved Fezzik. I adopted Fezzik, then called Rascal, on December 9th, 2010. Our previous pets had all lived long lives. Charlie, our beloved marmalade cat who I adopted at age 8, died a few years ago at 21. Dakota, our lab who I adopted from PARL in February of 1999, died this past May at age 15. Finally, Cleo, our other marmalade cat, died in October at age 19. After spending the last six years nursing geriatric pets, Otter (that's a husband, not a pet) and I swore we were done with animals.
