Berman Jewish Policy Archive @ NYU Wagner Newsletter
Jan. 2010
Dear Friends,

Jewish communal policy makers and philanthropists regularly seek to assess the impact of Jewish educational experiences upon medium and long-term Jewish identity outcomes. For researchers, though, assessing the impact of educational practices, programs, and policies is fraught with numerous vexing methodological difficulties. Too often what appears to be cause and effect may actually reflect pre-existing differences between program participants and non-participants. This Monday, February 1, BJPA will host a lecture at NYU Wagner with Prof. Adam Gamoran, professor of Sociology and Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Professor Gamoran will address these challenges, and will highlight a variety of strategies that are available to surmount these difficulties. I invite you to join us to learn more about this important topic. We offer the opportunity to attend both in person at NYU Wagner (RSVP here) or via webinar (register here).

In the meantime, I invite you to keep using our growing collection of resources. Since our last newsletter, we have added over 250 new documents The highlights are below and thousands more documents are yours for the searching.

With best wishes,
Steven
