The law went into effect on April 1. Many local governments prohibit or restrict use of lawn fertilizers containing phosphorus. Others are increasing education efforts.

 WREN will bring its popular Source Water Protection Workshop to Clearfield Countyon April 21, to Armstrong Countyon April 22 and Erie County on May 19. The Protecting Public Drinking Water workshops will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at: April 21 -- Hyde Social Hall, 1618 Washington Avenue, Clearfield, 16830; April 22 -- Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center, 142 Kerr Road,
Ford City, 16226; May 19 -- Millcreek Township Municipal Building, Erie, 16506.
The workshop will help public water suppliers, municipal officials, planners, watershed and conservation groups, educators, and residents learn about tools and resources available to help protect watersheds, reservoirs and groundwater that supply public drinking water. WREN received a record breaking 70 applications for the 10-12 grants available for Watershed Education Grants. Competition will be tough, and reviewing the applications even tougher!
