Greetings!

2009 will be a year of challenges and of opportunities.

As I introduce the CNE Business Intelligencer let me share with you that CNE is ready to stand with you to meet those challenges and to enable you to capture those opportunities for better customer service, sales, and business performance.  Let's work together this year to make the most of your investment in Business Intelligence (BI) education, licensing, and your current deployment of reports, dashboards, and analytics.  How can we do this?

Using DateDiff to Compute
Business Days Between Dates

Recently a client needed to get a count of the number of days their store is open in a particular period. They also needed to subtract the weekends and the statutory holidays from the total. The client does not have access to any external calendars like in BusinessObjects Enterprise or any database tables that have business days or calendars specified.

CNE's 2009 Economic Stimulus Package

GM got $9 Billion. The banks got $350 Billion. Where's your economic stimulus? Right here!

CNE wants to help our clients capitalize on your Business Objects software investment. Generate increased ROI in your employees - let us train your staff to maximize their performance. Improved reporting will increase revenue, cut expenses and help you make better business decisions. Take advantage of CNE's 2009 Economic Stimulus Package!

Focus on Data Integration - Filling the Need for a Holistic View of the Enterprise

Data Integration isn't easy. If it was, most businesses would have done it already. Delivering a 360-degree view of the business enterprise to executives, directors, and managers may be more imperative than ever, given our economic environment. Competitors who integrate data successfully from various departmental applications and software, spreadsheets and internally constructed databases, and external data such as D&B, Thomson Financial, etc. will reap the rewards of faster response to customer needs and requests.

If you own Business Objects Edge Professional you already own Data Integrator as well. Otherwise, Data Integrator is now part of Data Services 3.x from Business Objects.  If you currently license Data Integrator XI R2 or Data Services 3.0 you can gain maximum return on your investment by attending CNE's Authorized Education Course titled "BusinessObjects Data Integrator XI 3.0: Core Concepts".  The course number is DM320V30.

Let me share a business proposition with you. For a limited time, CNE and BusinessObjects are providing you with the opportunity to evaluate Data Integrator at your company. Combined with our Business Objects Edge implementation offer you can experience some of the benefits of combining data from various silos or departments in order to fill real gaps in management information at your company. You'll do this by responding to our offer to evaluate Business Objects Edge Professional for 30 days. CNE will install Edge on your server, including Data Integrator, and provide a working example of the power of data integration.

In the three-day course described above, you will learn about creating, executing, and troubleshooting batch jobs, using functions, scripts and transforms to change the structure and formatting of data, handling errors, and capturing changes in data.

As a business benefit, by being able to create efficient data integration projects, you can use the transformed data to help improve operational and supply chain efficiencies, enhance customer relationships, create new revenue opportunities, and optimize return on investment from enterprise applications.  In short, you'll see the forest for the trees.

Foundation Taps Xcelsius 2008 to
Save the Bay

The Chesapeake Bay is North America's largest estuary, a center of recreational and economic activity, and home to roughly 17 million people.

It's also ranked among the most polluted estuaries in the nation--and conditions are expected to worsen as the area's population grows.

CNE is Chesapeake Bay Foundation's business intelligence partner, along with SAP Business Objects.  When Ally Gontang-Highfield, Director of Accounting Systems at the Foundation, introduced Xcelsius 2008 to the Communications Department, they quickly embraced it.

Chesapeake Bay Foundation  members share a strong desire to take  personal action to "save the  bay". Recently, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation used Xcelcius  2008 to  create a "Nitrogen Calculator" that shows how its members daily activities  contribute to  pollution of the Bay and its waterways. It also suggests  ways to  reduce their "Nitrogen  footprint."
