Minister's Message |

Life is a Mystery
"There are two ways to face the future. One way is with apprehension, the other way is with anticipation." -Jim Rohn
Life is a mystery. That's what makes it so very intriguing. The best laid plans go astray. Yet, we are planning machines. I love "imagineering' the creations and results that comprise my life. I choose to face my life with anticipation letting the creative urge that breathes my breath, beats my heart and stirs my mind have Its way as me. I want to be a force for Good as long as I have the honor to walk on this sacred Earth. Dr. Ernest Holmes said that each person is an opportunity for God to know Itself anew. Emerson told us to get our bloated nothingness out of the way of the Devine Circuits. Let's resolve together to face our collective future as members and friends of CSL-Bellingham with anticipation and full out involvement. Let God be God in, as and through each of us. In the months ahead as an "all volunteer" ministry I'm looking for you to play with me in letting this Light in the Forest that is our Spiritual home be all that it can be...a force for Good in the world. Sign up through the talent bank. We want YOU! Rev. Colleen MacGilchrist

CSL Bellingham Ministerial Search |
Visioning Sessions Recap By Ronna Biggs Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the recent
visioning sessions. The sessions held on 6/7 and 6/9 served as a kick off to our CSL-B search for a new Senior Minister. The sessions were well attended and productive, and a rich body of information has been collected to begin shaping our vision. The visioning process was based on Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith's "Visioning Workbook" and we divided the session into three parts. In the first part, Reverend Colleen MacGilchrist led participants through a guided affirmative prayer process to create a quiet space of contemplation and meditation. Worksheets with prompt questions were provided to each person, and as the questions were asked, participants wrote ideas and intentions about candidate qualifications, qualities, and visions for CSL-B. After the reflection and prayer ended, we began the second part with small group sharing and debriefing. Individuals were invited to share their responses with each other and make a list of common and unique themes, ideas and intentions within the small group. Finally, the large group came together and each small group presented their lists. Lists were posted on the wall and each person was given a series of sticky dots to "vote" for those qualities, qualifications or evolutionary ideas for CSL-B that were most important to them. There were a number of key themes that emerged from the reflection and discussions. The conversation was lively and very thoughtful with some good humor thrown in! Our next step with the search process is to compile the information from the visioning sessions. All lists as well as the individual worksheets were collected and will be summarized and organized. Once the information is compiled and key themes are identified, a report will first be given to the Board of Trustees (likely at the July board meeting). Reverend Colleen and I will also make that information available to the larger congregation after the board meeting. Several individuals who attended the visioning sessions also expressed an interest in participating in the search committee and received applications. Applications must be postmarked by June 30th to be considered; our goal is to present recommendations for search committee members to the board at the July board meeting for their approval. Thank you everyone for an exciting kick off to the ministerial search process. We will keep you informed as we move forward together! Peace and Blessings! Ronna | |

See a Practitioner...for Your Good!
Deb Strom
"If you and I know there is some secret and silent operation in our own consciousness that can produce good for us and we do not use it, we are like a light that is under a bushel ." -- Ernest Holmes The Beverly HiIls Lectures
One operation that seems to be a secret at CSL-Bellingham is the prayer partnership available with the licensed practitioners in our congregation. These individuals have been trained and regularly exercise their ability to manifest GOOD into their lives and lives of others. My practitioner is Richard Tucker and he has been able to help me manifest incredible changes in my life. What I have noticed is that even though I am able to say the right words and delare my truth and my desires; a little part of me still doesn't belive that my Word is powerful enough. But ALL of me believes Richard when he declares the truth and dreams that I declare are mine. I can let go of the mind chatter and just agree with him. In that centered space, not hunting for the right words...I can absorb them and make this prayer mine, real, and manifest it now! I encourage you to let your light shine. Call one of our practitioners and set up an appointment for them to pray for you to bring into your life what you want, right now. It is a gift that you deserve, and only you can make it happen.

Affinity Groups! |
CSL-Bellingham offers Affinity Groups-that is another name for an interest group. Groups form around a common interest such as creative expression, sharing a self-help book, exploring passions and sharing hobbies. Groups have included Non Violent Communications, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Healing Tools, and Noble Purpose: Igniting Extraordinary Passion for Life and Work.
What are you interested in exploring? Ideas include healthy cooking, exploring a Science of Mind principle, poetry, making beaded jewelry, crafts, prosperous living, etc. Are you interested in facilitating a group? This would mean selecting a topic and some resource materials then leading discussions or activities and encouraging participants to take turns leading or sharing. Whether you want to host or just experience an Affinity Group, let Enid Wood (enidwood@gmail.com) know your area of interest and she can match you up with others who have similar interests.
