This Sunday...
...and still MORE about Trouble
James 1:9-12

Colossians imageWe continue our work through troubles. This week James gives us two case studies in dealing with trouble. The first is the person who goes through an economic difficulty, and the second is a person who has prospered in many ways.

One of the more difficult things for a culture like ours is to grasp the concept of joy in suffering/trouble. Essentially, the Bible teaches that the greatest trial of all is no trouble! Going through life "relatively trouble free," is not a blessing according to James. The blessing comes when we deal with trouble and it teaches us how to deal with life. We gain wisdom and understanding. That is the blessing.

When we are dealing with trouble it shows us the fading things that we use that cause us to fade as well. We can finally learn to say, "I am glad I had to go through that ordeal." Now, this is where we see the faithfulness of Jesus as he suffered for our sake. He gives us the power to walk through each and and every trial and trouble, knowing that we have something real and unfading...Jesus!
Life Group Highlight of the Week

1+1+1 small logoHere at All Saints, we want the people of Seattle to know and understand the reality of an abundant life in Christ. This can only happen if we live out our faith in the same places where we live out our lives. The 1 + 1+ 1 forumla is a way to bring together our faith and our personal lives to coexist as one. The formula includes 1 church gathering + 1 service team + 1 life group. In the coming weeks, we will be highlighting each life group. We want to help you find a community at All Saints to actively believe, doubt and seek with, while enjoying good food, conversation and Christian fellowship.

Real World Seattle:
Loan repayment, desk job, no homework...OH MY! Welcome to the real world, the place where the 9-5 is king. Joing our group of recent grads, non-recent grads, worker bees, etc. in the workforce loving this free and little-bit scarry stage of life. Each week we'll explore what it means to be a Christ-follower in our given fields, talk about our calling and have a little play along the way. Each month we'll be out and about enjoying the city we love (bonfires, laser show, happy hours, etc.).
