This Sunday...
I Heart Trouble James 1:1-4 --The book of James starts our series on a practical guide to living out the gospel--
We are beginning our James series this Sunday. We begin right away with a very tough topic; dealing with troubles. James is basically an extension of the sermon on the mount. Essentially, James is a practical guide for us to live out the gospel; how do we live this out?
This Sunday we will give a bit of bio on James and why he is so important to understanding this letter. We will then consider what he has to say about suffering and trouble. Life isn't easy or fair and it rains on the just and the unjust. No where do we see that Believers are exempt from suffering and trouble. James says, "Count it all joy...WHEN you meet trials of various kinds..."
However, there is so much that comes with understand our suffering. We are going to unpack these first four verses and hear the real, gritty, inspiring story of Kathi Goertzen.

Life Group Highlight of the Week
Here
at All Saints, we want the people of Seattle to know and understand the
reality of an abundant life in Christ. This can only happen if we live
out our faith in the same places where we live out our lives. The 1 +
1+ 1 forumla is a way to bring together our faith and our personal
lives to coexist as one. The formula includes 1 church gathering + 1
service team + 1 life group. In the coming weeks, we will be
highlighting each life group. We want to help you find a community at All Saints to actively believe, doubt and seek with, while enjoying good food, conversation and Christian fellowship.
Sage Counsel: The Sage Counsel is geared to pass wisdom from generation to generation. Each week, we'll invite a guest to join us and share their experiences, encouragement, guidance and heart as a Christ follower, so that we can learn from them and apply it to our lives. Hosts: Ben & Ashtyn Thomas Contact: benpault@aim.com / 206.326.9219 ashtynthomas@gmail.com / 206.383.5163
Inklings: The name, Inklings, is from a group that CS Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkein founded. This group is for those who are skeptical and have honest doubts they are seeking answers for. Our intent is to allow open discussion and dialogue on various subjects such as God, Jesus, the problem of good and evil and other religions. This group is in no way trying to convicnce people, rather it seeks to create an open forum for lively dialogue.
