The Quintessential Human Delusion: Hope and Money
2 Corinthians 8:8-15 and 9:6-12
 "We must imagine some end to life that transcends our own tiny allotment of days if we are to escape the notion that all of our getting and spending amounts to nothing more than fidgeting while we wait for death."
Interesting how part of being human means that our lives must count for something. Interesting how being a consumer almost robs us of humanity! The above quote is essentially saying that we want our lives, money and time to matter. In other words, invest knowing that it will benefit someone or something. This is exactly what the reading this week is telling us. Our hope, as a believer, impacts the way we spend our money. This investment is about people's soul, their destiny.
We are talking about the hope that is in Christ, it affects the way we invest our time and money. It is what makes the story of our lives so exciting rather than sitting around fidgeting and waiting.
