Walking with Jesus
Colossians imageFree to Be
Colossians 2:16-23

We are looking at a passage that has a lot to say to the Church, to those who have made the decision to follow Jesus. It is one of the more "in your face" passages about what it means to be a follower of Jesus and living it out in the world and the church. Paul makes no bones about the issues, the church in Colossae is dealing with forms of worship that are more concerned about style than content, smug and arrogant believers that are more concerned with knowing how to act rather than serving and accepting, and finally, followers that are more concerned about appearance rather than substance.

As a church, in the city of Seattle, it is an honor to love Jesus, to serve Jesus and represent Jesus to a city that has no idea who he is. We are unashamed of the truth that Jesus is the only way to the Father. To live free means to live like we know HE is the truth, he is the life, he is the way! We are agents of that freedom, we must learn how to walk this path and be free of our bias, our rules, our pride, our style so that Jesus can bring real freedom to all who believe, doubt and seek.

I am so excited for what God wants to do among us, let's be free and liberal with our experiences in Christ and share them with those who don't know. What freedom!

Prayer:  A growing group of people continues to meet in the loft at 9am on Sunday mornings for prayer.  We hope for all volunteers to make this prayer time a priority for their Sunday morning.  All are welcome!

The church is now open at 6:30am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for anyone who wants to come in and spend some time in personal prayer and reflection. Though the office will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day, the church will be open for prayer as usual at 6:30am!

Leaders@7

We had a great turn out for Leaders@7.  The 57 present were challenged by some passionate vision casting from Pastor Bill and pariticipated in a very helpful and honest time of feedback and response.  Our next Leaders@7 is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15th and we hope to be even closer to 100% participation from our volunteers.

Children's Ministries:
The Kids' Team is recruiting help for the summer quarter!  If you love kids and plan to be around this summer, please contact Sharlena at kids@believedoubtseek.org
for details!

Youth:
Registration packets for the Annual Youth Group Beach Retreat are now available at the concierge desk!   Any youth in middle school and high school are invited to spend the week of July 5th-10th at Pacific City on the Oregon Coast growing closer to Jesus.  Questions can be directed to: youth@believedoubtseek.org

Summer Life Groups

1 Gathering + 1 Life Group + 1 Service Opportunity
That's the equation that we believe rounds out the experience of a Christ follower.  Our emphasis at this point is on life groups as we have 18 groups getting ready to launch the first week of June!  LIfe groups are the place where you get to believe, doubt and seek with others in a variety of contexts that bring people with common interests together.  Life groups are where we really get to know each other beyond the brief Sunday morning, "How's it going?"  It's where we get to explore our questions, where we can truly care for each other, where our lives really intersect.

Whether you're looking for a weekly breakfast with the boys, or a morning run around Green Lake, there is a group for you!  Descriptions of life groups being offered over the summer, and sign ups are available on the involvement link of the All Saints website.  Any general life group questions can be directed to Stacy Baas at lifegroups@believedoubtseek.org

Baptisms & Dedications
Sunday, May 31st

At All Saints we believe it's an important step of obedience to affirm your decision to follow Jesus by being baptized in water just as Jesus was.  If you feel ready to take that step or even just want to ask some questions about it, please contact Pastor Joel at joel@believedoubtseek.org

For babies and children who aren't old enough to decide that they want to follow Jesus, we do a dedication.  That is an opportunity for the child to be dedicated to Jesus and for us as a church body to pray for the child and his/her family with the hope that the little one will grow up in the love of Jesus.  If you have a little one that you would like to dedicate to Jesus, Pastor Joel can help you with that as well!
All Saints News is sent out regularly to the community to engage and inform people of all that takes place through All Saints Church.  This and previous updates are available on the All Saints website.

If you have any ideas, submissions, or comments, please send them to life@believedoubtseek.org
