Team OHANA
 | Mother's Beach Marina Del Rey, Ca. OC Championships on March 20. Over 400 paddlers including: OC1, OC2, SUP's, Surfskis and traditional Paddleboards entered this terrific event put on by Brad and Angela Gaines of Paddleme.com. This first day of Spring started out perfect with warm temperatures and glassy conditions as the short course got underway. Chris Barlow took the overall win in 37:14 while Thomas Gallagher on his Ohana was the first to finish in the unlimited class in 45:22. Danny Ching finished on top in the SUP Stock class in 51:32 with Colin McPhilips and EJ Johnson close behind in 52:31 and 52:49. Brandi Cumin Baksic was the first women to cross the finish line on her Starboard with a time of 55:00. Mother Nature, with the help of the U.S. Coast Guard put an end to the Long Course (which started approx. 12 miles up the coast in Malibu) because of the intense Fog Bank which came in with less than 100 yards of visibility. The paddlers who had GPS units on board could easily navigate home while the rest of the competitors were bunched together by the patrol boats for their run down the coast. Overall, it was a fun ending to the season and we all had a great time! |

2010 CATALINA CHALLENGE 1st place overall in the OC-1 Open class went to Danny Ching and Wil Reichenstein with a time of 4:54:15. Team Ohana which consisted of Tom Gallagher, Rob Rojas and Thomas Shahinian set a new record in the SUP Unlimited division in 6 hours 4 minutes!

Kanoa Update
Kanoa to Quiksilver!
After finishing the 2008-2009 NSSA season by setting a new record with an incredible 30 wins Kanoa Igarashi, is still dominating his competition in 2010! The newest member of the Quicksilver Team is traveling the world surfing and doing photo shoots at 13! Kanoa's fame is well-known in Japan and is growing fast as one of the hottest young talents in surfing today! However, you wont be seeing OnIt Pro's logo on his boards anymore because, according to his new sports agent Brian Taylor, (who was Kelly Slaters agent for many years)the agreement with Quiksilver, is head to toe! Which basically means the real estate on his board is only open for Quiksilver's logo and of course, Al Merricks! We're happy to say he's been a big fan of OnIt Pro and will continue to rip as usual with Xtreme Cream applied to all his boards! We're happy for you Kanoa!!
