2008 Battle of the Paddle champion, and extreme wave surfer, Chuck Patterson, is Standup Journal's "Man of the Year"
murrayphoto.com
Beating out amazing waterman like Kalama,Keaulana and Laird, Chuck deserves all the recognition and respect of a great champion. He's not just a great paddler, Chuck is also one of the best extreme wave surfers of our time. Chuck flew to Tahiti to charge Teahupoo on his SUP and brought back some incredible photos and video of the Monster wave. Hailing out of Dana Point and riding for Hobie, this lifeguard is one great competitor and ambassador to the sport.
The finish at Maunalua Bay, Hawaii Kai
Chuck and his partner Mike Fields finished 8th overall and 2nd SUP in the Unlimited division at the Rainbow Sandals Molokai to Oahu race July 26. Kanoa Update
Kanoa Igarashi
Kanoa Igarashi finished his NSSA 2008-2009 season with an incredible 30 wins! However, he came up a little short in the semi-finals at the NSSA Nationals. The waves were good but inconsistant during the semis at Lowers in San Clemente; Kanoa just didn't get the right waves to take the Open Boys and Menehune championships. All year long Kanoa, has been applying XC the night before each contest and and even requested the hands of OnIt Pro's CEO, Erik Nordskog, to tune up his boards before his heats. Expect to hear a lot in the future about Kanoa. At the age of twelve, he already knows what it takes to be a winner! He's very focused and is determined to be a World Champion. We know that one day, he will be!
KOLOHE ANDINO AND LAKEY PETERSON WIN THE NATIONAL OPEN MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TITLES AND GOVERNOR'S CUP AT THE 31ST ANNUAL NSSA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. Ian Gentil from Maui, won the Open Boys title with two perfect 10's in the final. Kanoa also won the Rip Curl Grom Search!
A Television crew from Japan followed Kanoa around for the last month filming his every move for an upcoming show to air in Japan.
Also, check out the latest issue of Surfer Magazine (Sept. 09), page 138 for a hot shot and article on Kanoa! Our first OnIt Logo shot in a mag! Thanks Kanoa!

Xtreme Value
Unlike antiquated coatings of the past, XC is the latest in high-tech hydrophobic polymer coatings. Our proprietary formula is used in the High-Performance boating industry to reduce drag on the bottom of hulls for increased speed and better handling through the ocean swells. Tests on Surfboards, Paddle boards and performance canoes have the same results with over a 15% reduction in drag! No surface is as fast when it's coated with XC, even a sand finish. Your craft will glide through the water better which will reduce your paddling strokes. Imagine how much time you can knock off on a long paddle! Also, once XC is applied, clean up will be a snap and you'll maintain your investment longer.
XC outperforms and outlasts:
All Hydrophilic coating products, Teflon, spray on polymers, waxes, rain repelling products, Pledge, oils, soaps, butter or any other lubricating or slimy substance! |
