Sunscreen for Surfboards!
On It Pro's development of a sun screen for surfboards (UVX) is now ready for market. Tests on UVX have been going for over a year, and as you can see by the photo, we've acheived success! Everyone has boards which are turning yellow ( if you think it's not yellowing, put it next to one which is brand new). Wouldn't you rather keep it looking like the factory new finish as long as possible? UVX, a water based linear coating, seals and protects your board by slowing down the oxidation process from the ultra-violet rays which lead to fading and yellowing on the surface. When applied, UVX's UV inhibitors protect the surface and maintain the integrity of the material at least three times as long as an untreated board. Some finishes are very porous, especially when sanded down too much which attracts salt, dirt. Epoxy boards produce very low VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) in the manufacturing process which are more friendly to our environment, that's always a good thing! UVX, also prevents water migration into the foam because of it's linear properties by sealing the surface. Water molecules are microscopic, they eventually penetrate through the pores of a sand finish and hairline cracks, getting into the foam, thus shortening the life of the board. On It Pro, (developer and exclusive distributor of Xtreme Cream Performance coating and Blue Goo Power cleaner) once again looked to their World-Class manufacture Aurora Marine, to formulate a product to help combat the damaging effects of UV rays on surfboards. Epoxy boards are more susceptible to damage because of the properties in the Epoxy which makes it yellow more quickly than a polyester board. If you've ever had an epoxy board, you know what I mean! Some at this time start yellowing on the rack at the local Surf Shop! UVX is sprayed on as the final coat by the board builder and soon will be available for the consumer to wipe on to maintain the finish as well. The UV inhibitors in UVX will protect and seal the surface with only a one millimeter coat applied. UVX is also great for boards with color. UVX will keep the colors more vibrant a lot longer and keep the beautiful shine on!
The board sample was in a UV Light chamber around the clock for 2 weeks!
See us at the Sacred Craft Expo May 16 & 17 in Ventura!

Battle of the Paddle champion and extreme wave surfer, Chuck Patterson put away his SUP for an Outrigger Canoe! The event was on Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Dana Point, California. The 12+ mile long course hosted by the Dana Outrigger Canoe Club (DOCC) was nothing new to Chuck; He's paddled this distance many times before on his SUP, this time with, Thomas Shahinian. The two ironmen paddled their Huki OC2 outside of the Dana Harbor to win the long course in light chop conditions. It looks like he's got another sport to fit into his busy life as a professional waterman!
Also, Chuck Patterson and Bryce Saeman took home 1st and 3rd at the 23rd Santa Cruz Kayak Surf Festival. Chuck and Bryce managed to hold off the rest of the highly skilled stand up paddle field including local legends, Ward Coffey and John Griffith. With this first place finish Chuck continued his growing dominance as one of the world's premier stand up paddle surfers. "It was super challenging conditions with the waves being really small on top of low tide and kelp, but it was really great to ride against some of the local Santa Cruz legends", said Patterson. |
The Catalina Challenge was held March 28 in somewhat calm, but chilly conditions. On It Pro Team member, Danny Ching and his partner, Justin Banfield were the overall winners in a Pueo OC1 and set a new record of 4:48:22 while in the co-ed OC2 division Kelly Stevens/Nathan Talauega/Laurie Rubie/Chris Rubie took the win as well with a time of 5:20:49!
In the SUP Unlimited division, Chuck Patterson (pictured) and Byron Kurt paddled their 14' Hobie to a time of 6:32:13 while Ernie Johnson (EJ)/Brian Szymanski and Matt Friedman finished in 7:18:18 in the SUP Stock division on their 12'6" NCP. Congratulations to our Team!

Xtreme Value
Unlike antiquated coatings of the past, XC is the latest in high-tech hydrophobic polymer coatings. Our proprietary formula is used in the High-Performance boating industry to reduce drag on the bottom of hulls for increased speed and better handling through the ocean swells. Tests on Surfboards, Paddle boards and performance canoes have the same results with over a 15% reduction in drag! No surface is as fast when it's coated with XC, even a sand finish. Your craft will glide through the water better which will reduce your paddling strokes. Imagine how much time you can knock off on a long paddle! Also, once XC is applied, clean up will be a snap and you'll maintain your investment longer.
XC outperforms and outlasts:
All Hydrophilic coating products, Teflon, spray on polymers, waxes, rain repelling products, Pledge, oils, soaps, butter or any other lubricating or slimy substance! |

Testimonial
"I was somewhat skeptical prior to trying the Xtreme Cream, as I have tried several products in the past that were suppose to increase performance on a kayak hull. All of them were failures per my experience! That is until now! Using my GPS, and paddling on a calm day over a measured distance that I paddle all the time, I cut my previous best time to the point that if I would paddle a 10 mile race I would expect a 3-4 minute time improvement, which is awesome! Also, my over all top hull speed in a sprint has improved significantly with the product! By the way, your not allowed to sell XC East of the Mississippi for the next 20 years, Ha! You proved your point. I believe the Blue Goo prep has a lot to do with the XC performance".
