"OWH has always had amazingly fresh herbs and they have usually been able to get them to me the next day. Last year I took a tour of the facility and was blown away by how clean and professionally run it was. I had to come back and make our brewery even cleaner just to keep up."  More details>

What's Happenin' at OWH?
Artichoke plants in the greenhouse
Well spring is just around the corner. But, it feels like a big corner!

After 29 days of rain in March and not one day over 60 degrees, we are starting to think spring may never come. The farm is so wet, and full of water and mud, that we can't bring on our crews to weed as it would be detrimental to the soil. So, we'll just have to be patient and wait. One thing that is doing well is the weeds. They love it here, especially at this time of year.

Now that April is here, the only nice place on the farm is inside the greenhouses where it feels like spring, as they are starting to be just that, green! The Astragalus is starting to germinate, the Skullcap is starting to peek out of the dirt, and the Artichoke that was planted back in February is almost ready to be re-potted.

No Bakin' Herbal Energy Bars

There are many energy bars out there in the grocery markets - many of which are fortified with vitamins and other nutritious goodies. However, as with all packaged food, they can be a little pricey and many contain ingredients you can't even  pronounce!  These energy bars are easy to make and  fortified with our favorite energy-giving adaptogenic herbs; American Ginseng and Ashwagandha. Best of all ~ they taste fantastic!
