GALA Newsletter
GALA was organized to promote the arts as an essential component of a healthy community. We believe that artistic expression is a community's greatest legacy for future generations. GALA will increase awareness and appreciation of the arts by way of exhibits, instruction, theater productions, musical programs and provision of scholarships to students in local schools.

Greetings! | Thanks to our artists, musicians, volunteers & donors the GALA Spring Art Show & Sale was another success!
An estimated 400 people visited the show over the course of the weekend. The Friday night reception was very well attended and there was a large, enthusiastic audience for the awards announcements. The success of this show and of the GALA organization itself would not be possible without our incredible volunteers and we offer them our gratitude (see list). A special thanks goes to the following volunteer coordinators whose skill and hard work were instrumental in the success of the show: Vicki Heidorn-Overall Event; Jean Stabell-Art Shop; Deb Brennan & Anna Ruuska (with invaluable help from Jan Queijo)-Raffle; Jeff Gallant-Financials; Joe Bourgeois-Music; Anna Ruuska-Art Drop Off & Data; Chuck Heidorn & Kevin Bird-Installation; Ashley & Kevin Bird-Publicity Material; Ed Schneeflock-Online Registration & Data; Ellen Schneeflock-Food Table. Please patronize the businesses and thank the individuals that donated and let them know that you appreciate their generous support of the arts (see list). We want to express our appreciation to the Polish American Citizens Club (PACC) for their generosity in once again hosting our event at their beautiful facility! Thank you to our distinguished judges: Tom Kellner and Robert Mayer for their expertise and dedication! And of course, we want to express our gratitude to the wonderful artists and musicians who shared their marvelous artwork and talent with the community! Congratulations to the People's Choice Award winners: 1st Place: Bill Manser for "First Light" (Photograph) 2nd Place: Lori MacDonald for "Red Umbrella" (Acrylic) 3rd Place: Candy Baril for "Spring in the Forest" (Fabric) See the complete list of award winners!
