GALA LogoTopGALA Newsletter

GALA was organized to promote the arts as an essential component of a healthy community. We believe that artistic expression is a community's greatest legacy for future generations. GALA will increase awareness and appreciation of the arts by way of exhibits, instruction, theater productions, musical programs and provision of scholarships to students in local schools.

Colored Pencil Workshops with Gary Ruuska

Painting with Pencils: Colored Pencil Still Life
Saturday,   March 27,  10 am - 4 pm
This workshop is designed for those with some drawing experience. Working from a still life setup, you will make a quick line drawing. Then the real fun begins! Mix and layer color to create a colored pencil "painting" with the illusion of depth and form. Using colored pencils and a sanded board designed for pastel artists, you will experience the painterly possibilities of this exciting medium. The instructor will supply colored pencils, but you are encouraged to bring any pencils you already have. This workshop is especially designed for colored pencil artists who normally work with photos and for those new to the medium.
For more information, see the Sharon Arts Center Winter Catalog or call 603-924-7256.
