Greetings!,
"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why they call it the present." Ancient Wisdom
"Leap and the net will appear." John Burroughs
When we realize
that the only moment that exists is the present moment, we take a huge leap into personal and planetary healing. If we can spend our
present moments taking actions that align future moments with our highest
intentions, we will move from unconsciously manifesting our fears into living a
life that we consciously dream.
Most of us have a genetic disease
called "catastraphobia." This leads us to unintentionally
project our worst fears into the future. But, acting from fear is a
recipe for disaster. Our history is peppered with disasters and mistakes.
Both history books and psychoanalysis perpetuate the belief that we can
learn from the past and get it right. The truth is that only when we are free
from fear, can we act with clarity and common sense in the moment.
The truth about the future is that
we cannot know what is going to happen. But, we do know that our thoughts
and intentions manifest. So, how can we
shift our fear-based genetic disposition to one of confidence and trust without
feeling that we are going to be dangerously unprepared for the future? One
way is to practice detachment.
This does not mean that we do not
care what happens, but that we prepare, practice and then - let go - and allow the outcome
to be what it is. This enables us to continue
to act with clarity and confidence and in harmony with our highest intentions
in each successive moment.
Letting go of what we know and
moving into new territory can be scary. Trusting the process of life and
knowing we are protected enables us to flow with courage and confidence. If
we trust, our fear automatically diminishes. We are able to release our
expectations in the knowledge that all is well. As we detach from the
outcome, we relax and appreciate what is. This creates an invisible
ladder - our next step appears as we extend our foot. |
