Dear Friend,
"We all have the potential to dream a sacred and courageous dream, one that goes beyond serving our personal desires and brings beauty into the world." Courageous Dreaming, Alberto Villoldo
My dream is to buy a farm and support sustainable, healthy local agriculture. When the stock market took a dive, I took stock. What is really valuable, I asked myself? Where should I put my money, my time, my effort? The answer that came to me was to seed a project that would connect me to my dream of a world of peace, health and prosperity for all. My vision includes community, joy and an abundance of opportunity to create beauty and live a life of purpose and fulfillment that connects me with the Great Spirit that pervades everything.
The key to courageous dreaming is to refocus our inner landscape to reflect an understanding of the connectedness of all people and also the world. Christians say "love thy neighbor as thyself." Native Americans talk about the "web of life" and strive to "walk in beauty." Jews practice the mitzvah of "Tikkun Olam" - repairing the world. These ideas are not new - the difference now - is the opportunity for us to actually practice them as a species. We have all heard about evolution as the "survival of the fittest." This view dovetails with our current selfish, self-centered world view. What if we actually acted as if our neighbor was as important as our self? What if we believed it was our job to repair the world? What if we walked in beauty and in harmony with the web of life?
What is your dream? If
each of us follows our dream, with the intention of creating the
highest possible outcome for ourselves and others, the world will look
like a different place!
