Al Gallegos Tours the Midwest

Al greets customers in Urbandale, Iowa

For such an unassuming man, Al Gallegos has developed quite a following of devoted fans who are always excited to meet the inventor of Z-CoiLŪ footwear. He enjoys meeting customers in person, too, and so he regularly visits Z-CoiL stores around the country.

In mid-May, Al toured three Midwestern cities: Kansas City, Des Moines, and Omaha, where he had a wonderful time chatting with and personally fitting dozens of customers at the local Z-CoiL stores. The stores all hosted special Meet-the-Founder events, treating visitors to cookouts and massages and fun footwear giveaways.

At the nation's top two Z-CoiL stores for the last two years running, in Urbandale (Des Moines) and Omaha, Al's visit also served as an occasion to partner with the Arthritis Foundation. Customers who purchased shoes during these Meet-the-Founder events received a $10 savings on each footwear purchase, which was then donated to the this worthy cause.

Arlene and AlAl also stopped in at a Machine Quilters Showcase held in Kansas City, followed the next day by a special reception at the Z-CoiL store in Overland Park, Kansas. One Z-CoiL devotee, Arlene, pictured here with Al, took a day off work as a teacher to meet him. In fact, she claims to own 17 pairs of Z-CoiL shoes! Now that's devotion!

Arlene's Story:

"I had a great time meeting and visiting with Al. (Of course, the quilting show was a bonus!)  I waited until Friday to wear the new style as I didn't want the kids to realize I skipped school to come to the show! When I got home and counted, I now have 17 pairs of Z-CoiL shoes! One can never have too many Z's! Someone that has never experienced back pain or the pain of standing on one's feet all day, sometimes 20 hours at a time, can't really understand the joy of wearing Z-CoiL shoes.

"When I found Z's, I was almost to the point of being in a wheelchair from the pain in my legs and the swelling of my ankles. As a teacher I found myself sitting more and more in the classroom. When I moved to culinary arts full time, I thought that I might have to go ahead and retire because I could not stand on the tile floor for such long periods of time.

"I put on a pair of Z-CoiL footwear and have never looked back. The pain is gone and I can shop my students into the ground when we go on field trips. When I lost all of my Z's in a house fire, it was fortunate that I had at least one pair on. It got me from Tuesday to Saturday when I could get a second pair. Before Z-CoiL, I used to decide what shoes to wear with my outfit. Now I choose my outfit to go with my Z's!"
Stay tuned for Al's next appearance!
