With the busy fall, we are a bit behind in our congratulations to Darshan HM (Dacaprio - SPS Pakesa) and his owner, Laura (NH).
For his third breed show, Darshan attended the DLT show (Maine) in August. The judge for the event was Gerd Zuther. Darshan showed wonderful gaits and athletism and received high praise for his future potential. He won his class and was Colt Champion and Young Horse Champion. He was woken up early from a well deserved nap for the Grand Championship class and was still sleepy when his turn came. But we were more than thrilled with how this 3 month old handled himself.
To top off the year, Darshan ended up in sixth place with the American Hanoverian Society year end awards in the young colt/gelding division (weanlings/yearlings)
We look forward to Darshan's many future successes in the dressage ring!

This past fall and winter were very busy for us. Linda attended the USDF Convention in December in Austin, TX as a Region 8 Delegate. Jeff and Linda attended the AHS Annual Meeting in February in Philadelphia, PA where Linda was part of a panel to discuss Successes in Breeding in the US. While traveling to the AHS meeting, we were able to see Legacy HM (2008 Londonderry - SPS Destiny) in NJ and Regalia HM (2009 Rascalino - EM Day Dream) at Hilltop Farm in MD. With spring, Linda was busy organizing the NEDA Spring Symposium.
Now the focus shifts to breeding/foaling season and with that show season. There will be a fair number of HM horses out competing this year...Sabatini HM (2007 Sandro Hit - SPS Pakesa) has been recently started under-saddle and will be out showing in-hand. Also showing in hand will be Legacy HM (2008 Londonderry - SPS Destiny), our own Reminisce HM (2008 Rascalino - EM Day Dream), Darshan HM (2009 Dacaprio - SPS Pakesa), and Regalia HM (2009 Rascalino - EM Day Dream). Plus the two 2010 foals which are on the way. We want to say a special thank you to our clients who get their young horses out to compete.

Foals of 2010
As the weather warms up, our thoughts turn to foaling season. This year we are expecting two foals. In mid May, EM Day Dream (Don Bosco - Furinos) is due to Soleil Q (Sunlight xx - Wolkenstein II). We are very excited about this cross as we picked this stallion out for Day Dream at his licensing in Verden, GER a few years ago. Soleil was imported to the US and became available on a limited basis in 2009. Since we have our keeper filly from Day Dream, this foal will be for sale (colt or filly). In early June, SPS Destiny (Desert Moon - Wesley) is due to Londonderry (Lauries Crusader xx - Warkant). This cross has been well proven with our last three colts. Leggy, modern, uphill in build and movement and destined to become dressage stars. Only a colt will be for sale as we will retain a filly for our future breeding program. Our third mare, SPS Pakesa (Prince Thatch xx - Duerkheim) enjoyed the year off and has recently been bred to Dacaprio for a 2011 foal. Pakesa has been worked on the lounge and we have been reminded of how powerful of a mover she is. She is true to her sire and demonstrates a fluid, catlike walk which earned her a 9 in Germany and her trot shows incredible power from behind with great ability to sit.

2009 Open House
 | It may seem a bit early, but with the busy New England show calendar, we have set the date for our Annual Open House. Please plan to join us on Sunday, July 11th for some BBQ and Foal Fun. We will start the day with a formal presentation of each mare and foal on the triangle at 10am. This will be followed through out the day by Foal Visits as we take small groups into the fields to meet our mares and foals. There is nothing they enjoy more than a good wither scratching. Please see our website for further details and directions as the date draws closer.
