Immediate Past President's Message
The Year in Review!
by David Avison
2008-2009 AIS President
I write this article following the AIS Council meeting in mid June which took place in Verona immediately following the European Conference in Information Systems as I approach the end of my year as President. This gives me an opportunity to look at our progress over the past year before handing over to Bernard Tan.
We have been very busy! Reflecting on the year as a whole, I think we have made good progress even if we have not, of course, achieved everything! I stood for the presidency on two platforms: furthering the internationalization of the association and extending our membership base.

President's Message
The Future of AIS!
by Bernard Tan,
2009-2010 AIS President
I thank you for electing me as President for 2009-10. In my past year as President-Elect, I have learned a lot from colleagues (including many who are not in the Council) about key challenges confronting our field that warrant the attention of AIS. Two key items on my platform are the development of professional membership and the facilitation of IS education in emerging countries. Read More... |
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: New password restrictions on AIS member profiles are currently in effect!
The latest release of Members360 (which houses the AIS membership database) was rolled out on June 18. There is an important change to note that affects all AIS member accounts.
Minimum password strength requirements are now enforced for all member-created passwords. Passwords are required to contain:
- A minimum of 7 characters
- Both alpha and numeric characters
- If your current password does not meet these requirements, please note that you will be prompted to change your password upon initially logging in. You will not be able to access your member profile until your password has been changed.
- "Updating" your password can be as easy as adding one numeric character to your current password!
If you have any additional questions or concerns about this, please contact the Membership Manager via email at membership@aisnet.org or phone at +1-404-413-7442 for assistance. Thank you for your flexibility! |
