Greetings HRMA Members,
The Value of having a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Membership
Since January 2011, I sent you several brief descriptions of fascinating research articles that SHRM publishes for review. This information is timely and relevant to apply to HR issues in local organizations. This is just one of the various benefits to being a SHRM member. Other benefits include: access to industry best practices, sample forms, policies and general HR information, timely legislative updates, articles, toolkits, the ability to ask specific HR questions, discounts to the best HR Conferences in the world, and much more! I encourage you, if you are not already a member, to consider SHRM membership today. Why reinvent the wheel when you have access to an abundance of resources, research, and benchmarking information readily available at your fingertips for all types of HR related issues.
This month's HR Magazine alone covers topics such as telecommuting, managing virtual teams, succession planning, pre-employment screening, health care reform potential changes, pension plans, and leading with the brain. Learn more about the abundance of HR information SHRM publishes by joining today. These tools allow you to ask questions, obtain ideas, stay compliant, and grow professionally in the field of HR.
Take a look at http://www.shrm.org/Pages/default.aspx. If you do join SHRM, please ensure you update your HRMA records online and provide HRMA this information. The cost of membership is only $180 a year. This bargain equates to a $15 a month investment in your chosen HR profession. The learning opportunities presented by SHRM membership is well worth the cost. Furthermore, if you are a SHRM member, your HRMA membership is discounted annually by $50.
To those of you who attended SHRM's 63rd Annual Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the end of June, congratulations for your demonstrated commitment to sharpening your HR skills. Share your knowledge gained regarding innovative solutions for what is next for HR, not only with your organizations but also with your fellow HR peers.
