From our President

March 1, 2011

Greetings HRMA Membership,

Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Henry G. Jackson speaks out in the February 2011 HR Magazine about "Thought Leadership:  What It Means to You" stating, "A thought leader today means more than speaking out for the profession. It means being recognized for innovative ideas that change the way business leaders think about their businesses, and for having the insight and foresight to know and influence what's next."

How is your organization planning for recruitment and retention of top talent; workplace flexibility; changing workplace demographics; integration of veterans in the workplace; implementation of legislative mandates; health care reform; rising health care costs; changes in retirement plans; the impact of social media; employee morale during this challenging economy; and other human capital challenges impacting organizations today?  It is essential that HR professionals serve as thought leaders in any organization to balance the ever changing environment all while doing more with less.  Opportunities do exist should we take on the challenge to think outside the box about our organizations' most valuable assets, human capital, and assist organizations to plan for what is next.
