February 1, 2011
Greetings HRMA Membership,
We started out the year with the January guest speakers from the Albuquerque Economic Development discussing Economic Update and the Role of Human Resources Professionals in the Albuquerque Metro Area's Growth. One key reminder for me was one of the most important skill sets for HR professionals - to be resourceful. Understanding your resources, identifying what is available for organizational use, and knowing when/how we may best utilize those resources are important for HR professionals.
60 Day Legislative Session (January 18 - March 19, 2011)

Please stay tuned via www.hrmanm.org. Please ensure that your email address is updated on the website so that you may receive timely relevant information regarding New Mexico's legislative activity.

Upcoming Speaker in February
Hope to see you at our next chapter meeting on February 15, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Our guest speakers will be Vince Harrison and Bob Casey who will present "Violence in the Workplace and Effective Use of Investigators." This session will identify the potential threat of an employee or other persons. Proactive steps will be introduced to take before and after termination (i.e. background investigations, reference checks, etc.) to prevent violence in the workplace.
Have a great February!
