SHRM NM State Conference

If you cannot spend the money nor the time to attend the SHRM National Conference this year, don't despair!

2010 SHRM National Conference speakers Nancy Newell, Robert Greene and Chester Elton will also be featured at the SHRMNM State Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, February 8th  & 9th.  By attending the SHRM NM Sate Conference, you will have the opportunity to hear these national speakers without paying the higher cost of attending a national conference (higher conference fees along with the expense and time of traveling out of state).

Don't miss face to face discussion with an awesome group of vendors that include: Jobing.com, Manpower, ADP, Jackson Lewis, Rodey Law Firm, Liberty Mutual, Linton & Associates, Littler Mendelson, AON, Hospital Services Corp., Waddell & Reed, Manual Lujan Insurance, Avista Video, Solutions Group, Employment Research Services, Hub International and NM Business Leadership Network.

And remember the SHRMNM State Conference is
ONLY held every other year - the next state conference won't be until 2012!!  So don't miss out on a great opportunity to attend this world class conference on February 8th & 9th for Human Resources professionals here in New Mexico.

From our 2009 President

Dear Valued HRMA Members:

My term as your President is now complete and it has been a terrific year and my distinct privilege to have served in this capacity.  I thank you all for your continued membership and support of this great organization.    While there were many accomplishments during the year, I am most proud of the work our chapter did to receive the 2009 SHRM Pinnacle Award.

HRMA was honored in Washington D.C. for our strategic alliance with TeamWorks, an organization that assists single-parent women and recipients of Temporary Aid to Needy Families. Since implementation, our HRMA members have contributed over 237 volunteer hours! In 2009, over 33 members volunteered their time and talents to train the participants at TeamWorks, some of these volunteers contributing as many as four or more times throughout the year.  This project and volunteer effort exemplifies the kind of HR leadership that our chapter members engage in on a daily basis.  This program not only makes a difference in our local community, but also serves as an example for HR organizations around the country. Thank you again to each and every HRMA member who generously volunteered their time at TeamWorks!  It has been great to be part of an organization with such incredibly generous and talented members.

I'd also like to extend a big thank you to all volunteers who help the HRMA Board of Directors get the job done this year.  Many of you volunteered your valuable time and energy on a monthly basis to assist us with things like new member orientation or selling tickets for the student scholarship prize drawing.  Your time was truly appreciated - we couldn't have done it without you!

As I complete the year, I turn the reigns over to your new President, Jennifer Rowley Baca.  I know you will find her to be a capable and innovative leader who will take HRMA to the next level in 2010.

I wish each of you a safe and joyous holiday season and a terrific New Year.

Sincerely,

Patty Longdon
