As you know, change has come to Washington. Last month, the new 111th Congress convened and on January 20, President Barack Obama was sworn into office as the 44th President of the United States. The first piece of legislation to make it through the Congress and to be signed into law by President Obama was a labor law reform bill - the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. SHRM believes this is only the beginning, as legislation addressing such important HR issues as workplace flexibility, employment verification, the Employee Free Choice Act, and health care reform are certain to be vetted soon, in both the Congress and the White House.
