Its All About

Making a

Positive Impact

on our Region

Greetings!
In an effort to improve communications with our partners, colleagues and residents, we publish this brief, monthly eNewslwtter.  If you have comments, questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.  We value your input.

From the Director:

Stephanie Shrader

 Hello,

If you haven't checked out our NebraskaCity.com website recently,  please do.  We continue to make upgrades and new enhancements to the site.  Check out the new dash board additions on our HomePage

Interactive demographic information from ESRI has been added on the Demographics and Costs section under the  Logistic Facts tab .  This interactive graphic allows you to choose from a drop down list to gain access to information on Median Household Income, Median Age and Average Household size just to name a few. Technology is making it possible for us to provide demographic information at your finger tips with the click of a mouse.  Give it a test drive!

Also a great video on our web site is about ESU's Energy Academy. This great tool in Southeast Nebraska is creating industry ready graduates as employees for industry in our region.  Video

Economic development marketing takes many approaches with electronic marketing giving the broadest reach, however we've found that local marketing is just as important.

This year we are highlighting our partners who have increased their commitment to NCAEDC. This month's spotlighted partner is Peru State College Graduate Programs.

This Month's Spotlighted Business:

Spotlight

Peru State College Graduate Programs

This month's Highlighted partner is the Peru State College Graduate Programs directed by Dr. Greg Seay Ed.D., M.B.A. Dean of Graduate Programs. Peru State College began offering Graduate programs in 1987. The Master of Science in Education was first program to be offered, with the Master of Science in Organizational Management courses to follow in the Fall of 2006.

Peru State College offers these masters programs in an online format:

  • The Master of Science in Education - Curriculum & Instruction Concentration
  • The Master of Science in Organizational Management - Entrepreneurial and Economic Development Concentration

These programs are accredited, affordable and accessible, and most recently designated #2 in the nation in affordability according to US News and World.  They are completely online from application to graduation.  Having the entire program online is a huge competitive advantage, as individuals pursuing a master's degree can still be employed and complete their coursework at their own pace.

When Dr. Seay was asked "What is the one accomplishment of your program that you are most proud?" He was quick to respond:   "We're very proud of our students.  As regular working individuals pursuing a degree, they are required to organize their life to include setting aside time to work towards the degree.  The satisfaction each student receives from graduating with his/her degree makes this program very worthwhile."

Peru State's faculty are highly-trained, well-educated and the majority are experienced in the real-world - not just in academics.  Students have the ability to use their academic training in their current work place and to work on special projects in their employment or in their communities.  PSC's students are ready to put their training into action immediately upon graduating - many introduce lessons learned while still pursuing the degree.

We are excited Peru State College Graduate Programs is our newest partner with NCAEDC!
