| 2-1-1 information & referral is a free community service that provides callers with information about and referrals to human services for every day needs and in times of crisis.
2-1-1 gives citizens one number to call when they need access to human services, or when they want to make a meaningful contribution of time or goods. 2-1-1 information and referral is a service provided by the United Way of Greater Lorain County - and maintains a presence in the community 24/7. As a result, people can find available help whenever the need arises.

| Stories of Success -
Submitted by Kathleen Murphy Neighborhood House Association
|
Bridget Moreno walked through the doors of Neighborhood House early April 2008. Our meeting was chance; she was picking up her daughter who spent the day volunteering at one of our Child Care Centers. I invited Bridget to the next 'tour' of NHA, offering a first hand look into several of our programs and how we serve the community. We spoke about the NHA mission: to address basic needs, enhance individual and family life and improve neighborhoods and communities. She asked questions, quietly observed her surroundings. We shared a vision - to transform the empty playground at City View into a safe haven filled with toys and the laughter of children at play. Bridget left NHA that day in early April with a seed planted and made vision reality - she quietly recruited friends - donations of toys, equipment, both brand new and like new, were passed on to us. Today, thanks to her act of kindness, the playground is filled with the laughter of happy, safe children. Bridget Moreno has embraced the CityViewChildCareCenter because it is something she believes in. She has graced NHA with her endless energy and drive and continues to give us her amazing gift of making a difference in the lives of others.
NHA is a United Way funded program partner.
