Greetings!
Every month I endeavor to share some tidbit of insight about fundraising.  Since the beginning of December I have been groping for wisdom.  As days marched on, I have found myself less and less insightful, and more awash with happiness.  This month marks the completion of my first year as a full-time freelance coach, and I am very grateful to the web of people and institutions that support me in this endeavor.  Thank you to organizational leaders who have allowed me to partner with you to fan the flames of generosity.  Thank you to colleagues who have shared your expertise about how to build a consulting practice.  Thank you to workshop participants who have inspired me with your commitment to building stronger institutions.

logoAs I get older, my convictions get simpler. I believe that the Winter Solstice tells all the essentials of the Christmas story.  We are approaching the darkest days of the year.  This season is an invitation to celebrate the moment, at the beginning of time, when Light first penetrated the void.  According to the book of John, "The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness has never mastered it."

I honor you for your work bringing Light into the world.

If your organization would benefit from creative thinking about major gifts fund raising, let's talk.  I can help you think through how to raise money from individual donors in this tough economic climate, get ready for a capital campaign, strengthen board involvement in fund raising, or overcome collective nuerosis about money.  Call my cell phone (301) 758 3410, or send an email to  paul@jumpstartgrowth.com
