Guard Rail Needed for Wantagh Parkway Bike Path

We are always looking for ways to keep the kids busy.
A few months ago, I decided to take the kids for a bike ride along the path on the Wantagh Parkway. We jumped on the bikes and started to ride. Not soon after, the path got so close to the parkway that I decided to turn around and leave.
Later that day, I started a group on facebook called
"Guard Rail for Wantagh Parkway Bike Path".
The description on the group says:
"Let's join together and make the Wantagh bike path a safer place
to do all things recreational!! The path is so close to the Wantagh Parkway...it's an accident waiting to happen.
Join our cause to have a guard rail placed along the path!!"
Well unfortunately, an accident did happen. On July 20, 2009, 19 year old Matthew Scarpati was changing his tire on the bike path that is located within feet of the parkway. A drunk motorcyclist struck Matthew and was fatally wounded.
