The Living Room
"A 'fun, cozy place' that looks like a cross between a 'coffeehouse' and 'your parents' den from the '70's', this LES music venue mainly showcases 'up-and-coming acoustic acts; since its 'all about the music and nothing else', you can expect a 'fantastic' sound system and little attitude." (Zagat Survey 2007-2008). Voted one of America's 40 Best Music Venues by Paste Magazine. For calendar and other information on the Living Room go to http://www.livingroomny.com/ | |

The Henry Clay People

The Henry Clay People become the first band to play Kidrockers LA and New York. With a sound reminiscent of Pavement and The Replacements, THCP play a type of no-frills, pretention-free rock. On November 4th, they released their second album "For Cheap or For Free" on Aquarium Drunkard's Autumn Tone Records. The Henry Clay People were named Deli Magazine's LA Artist of the Year 2008 and have toured alongside The Whigs, Broken West and a had spot at this summer's Sunset Junction Fest with !!!, Beachwood Sparks, Black Keys, Cold War Kids and more.

Alberta Cross

This Anglo-Swedish band -- now based in Brooklyn -- was invited by Noel Gallagher to open for Oasis on their recent UK tour. The pairing makes sense. "Their mellow, harmony-filled rock nods to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, but has a pop-nous that makes song like "Lucy Rider" and "Hard Breaks" instantly accessible. Following the trend for revisiting unfashionable classic-rock forms, Alberta Cross pull off Fleet Foxes' trick of simultaneously sounding like lost treasure and something fresh and new." Yorkshire Evening Post. "The best new band we've seen live this week." NME
