Dear Winter's Eve Kidrockers,

Thank you for giving us your email at the Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square festival.  Now, we can share a Winter's Eve photo video and tell you about our upcoming show, Sunday, December 16th at The Living Room featuring two of New Yorks finest indie rock bands - Phonograph and Palomar.

Thanks to all who came out and ate 400 Cold Stone ice creams (before the first note was played), twisted on Twister to Baldo's guitar hero and other great tunes, danced and sang along with Locksley and Harlem Shakes, answered Seth's rock trivia to win some great Tiger Electronics prizes and made fun photo t-shirts.

Phonograph
"has carved out a niche for itself that falls somewhere between indie-rock, experimental electronica and alt-country, while still staying true to the sounds of stripped-down Americana. Led by singer/guitarist Matthew Welsh, Phonograph formed in 2005 after the rest of the group - guitar, pedal steel, bass/keyboards and drums - was introduced to him through an engineer at the studio where Welsh was recording. A chance meeting with Wilco bassist John Stirratt landed Phonograph a slot as an opener on Wilco's national tour, where it earned consistent praise for its inventive songwriting and captivating stage presence." World Café Aug 2007.

Palomar is a three woman and one man band from Brooklyn. Their first album won them comparisons to Sleater-Kinney and Talulah Gosh.  The band released two more albums and toured the country with indie rock staples Luna, Mates of State, Ted Leo, Spoon and the Wrens. "Palomar makes indie-pop sound like it wandered through a cloud of gamma radiation and wound up with superpowers: lurid muscles, torn jeans, the whole nine." Pitchfork.

The intimate music venue where Norah Jones played before she was a sensation eventually outgrew its tiny original space. The Living Room's new digs include a comfy upstairs lounge and, back behind the brown velvet curtains, a bigger but still intimate music space that looks enormous to those who remember the crush of chairs, tables, and bodies at the old Living Room. What hasn't changed is the music. Seven nights a week, a mixed crowd turns out for heartfelt, acoustic performances. (New York Magazine, Nightlife & Entertainment)
We hope to see you Sunday, December 16th at 1PM.  Please forward this info to any other rockers.

Turn it up,

Beth Lorge
