Fund the Clinic

Did you know that more than 40,000 people in Lancaster County have no health insurance? Last year, our free medical clinic had nearly 11,000 patient visits, and this year our numbers are projected to exceed 15,000.

What is most surprising is that 91 percent of the people visiting us have no other connection to the Mission, either to our shelter or prevention center. They are just people in our community living as much as 200 percent below the poverty line, without health insurance.

Starry Nights Christmas Tree Festival and Gala looking for volunteers

We're still seeking volunteers for this year's Starry Nights Christmas tree festival and gala. We need volunteers to help on our planning committees by recruiting sponsors and designers, setting up entertainment, and handling logistics.

If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering on one of our planning committees, please contact Lisa Mclung at lmclung@peoplescitymission.org.

The New Homeless Prevention Center is open!

The HPC officially opened on July 9th at it's new location at 26th and O streets. The new location will help us to better serve those in need in our community by providing them with fresh and canned food, clothing, baby supplies, household goods and more, at no cost to them.

The Mission is looking for bicycles

Do you have an old bike that's collecting dust in your garage? If so, consider giving it to the Mission. Many of our guests maintain jobs, but have severe difficulty getting to and from work each day. And if they can't make it to work, it's extremely difficult for them to overcome homelessness. You can help by donating men's and women's bicycles that our guests can use to transport themselves to work and appointments each day.

Bikes may be dropped off at the Mission (110 Q Street). If you have questions, please contact Becky Painter at bpainter@peoplescitymission.org.
