“As a face is reflected in the water, so a person is reflected by his or her heart” (Proverbs 27:19)
Assumptions make for funny stories, but in much of life they can have more serious consequences. Pastor Tom illustrates how our assumptions color our perceptions and alter our behavior. Don't get caught with your cookies in your pocket!

Meet Monte
Twenty years ago, Monte Davis lost his ex-wife and 10-year-old daughter in a murder-suicide. Unable to handle the pain and anger, he turned to drugs and alcohol for relief. What he found instead was a crippling addiction.
Monte’s alcoholism and drug addictions cost him everything. He lost his home, his job, his truck . . . but most importantly his health and independent life. He was so focused on his anger—at his ex-wife, and her verbally abusive boyfriend, and at the people who had pushed him so far—that he stopped caring about taking care of himself. He was charged with drug felonies and suffered drug-related illnesses and health problems. When he finally came to the Mission, he knew it was time for a drastic change.

PCM's Women's Night of Elegance recap
People's City Mission's Women's Night of Elegance took place Saturday, February 25. The evening began with the ladies excitedly dressing in their gowns and putting the finishing touches on their hair and makeup. They were then treated to an hour-long stretch limousine ride around town.
