In one year's time, Sara went from owning her own medical practice to being penniless, unemployed, and recovering from alcoholism. You see, Sara chose to get help for her addiction while at the same time her accountant stole her entire life's savings.
Sara soon found herself sinking into a deep depression and unable to find work. She then read about the PCM Clinic in the paper. She began to volunteer as support staff and each morning the clinic staff would start the day by holding hands and praying together.
This was new to Sara. The love and kindness of her coworkers led her to question what they had that she didn't. Whatever it was, she wanted it! Her coworker, Pat, took her to church, where she gave her heart to God.
"I never would have imagined that I would become religious."
Through her time as a volunteer for the clinic Sara has found hope, faith and a renewed sense of purpose.
Many people say that the healing that takes place at our clinic is just as profound, if not more so, in the lives of our volunteers as it is in the lives of the people they help.
