Curtis Center Barbecue to Honor & Remember

The Curtis Center had their first barbecue of the year on April 6th. The recent graduates of the transitional program were also invited, along with staff. This gathering was two-fold. Todd Vesley who has volunteered and worked as the vet's advocate is moving on to new pursuits. He will be missed by the vets and residents. We also took a moment to reflect on one of our residents who passed away recently. His name was Frederick Jacobson and he had been at the Curtis Center for one year. A blue spruce was planted on the grounds in memory of him.

The Amazing Grace Food Drive Recap

AGFD photo 2

The first ever Amazing Grace Food Drive was a success! Student volunteers raised 2012 pounds of food in just a few hours!

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes/Varsity Catholic team from UNL collected the largest amount of food overall. Great job!

Thank you to all of our volunteers and those who donated food for this event. Many needy people in our community will be fed because of your efforts!

Want to join us for The Amazing Grace Food Drive 2011? Mark your calendars for
Sunday, April 10, 2011
.

See you there!
