billCurtis Center Success Story

Bill is a recent graduate of the Curtis Center. He came here because he had gone through a traumatic divorce with very bitter feelings on both side. He was extremely depressed and stayed isolated in his room. By working with him and one-on-one counseling, group sessions that made him realize he was not alone, he started to come out of his shell. In his last year, he was on our council, is reunited with his sons and has a new apartment. Bill is looking forward to a new life.

Praise God for changed lives!
Lisa McClungMeet Our Staff

Welcome Lisa McClung!
Lisa is our new Community Relations Director.  Lisa will work with businesses, churches and other organizations who support and partner with us. She also will be coordinating our special events!

Lisa comes to us from Wells Fargo where she worked for ten years.  She is married and has three children (ages 11, 8 and 3).

What Lisa likes best about working at the Mission is the people - she says everyone has been so welcoming.  She looks forward to helping the Mission grow by building strong business partnerships. Most of all, she feels working here be very fulfilling.

Some things that people might not know about Lisa:
She grew up on a farm and was in 4-H for many years. In high school and college, she sang at weddings, local festivals and community events.

Things that Lisa likes to do outside of work:
Her first love is spending time with her family and doing activities with her kids.  When she has time to herself, she spends it sewing baby blankets or making craft items.

We are blessed to have Lisa with us!

Amazing Grace Food Drive logo

Six local colleges and universities are parcitpating in a race to collect much needed food for Mission.

Competitions will be held between clubs and organizations on the campuses of UNL, Concordia University, SCC, Union College, Nebraska Wesleyan University and Doane College. One winner will be announced from each campus. The campus collecting the most food overall will be recognized as well.  Prizes will be given out at a celebration for all participants at the end of the Food Drive.

Food donated will help feed the homeless and needy we serve. The loss of the Dare2Share food drive makes this food drive even more important this year!

Please donate generously when asked by a college student to help fill their bag with food.
