Woman's Daughter Offered Hope and Healing at our Free Medical Clinic
Lee's daughter has had her share of medical problems. Uninsured, she & her husband eventually had to declare bankruptcy when medical bills from her past illness buried them in debt. Because of this, she was scared to seek medical attention when she became ill again. Lee shared with us her daughter was so ill she could hardly stand up.
A group from Lee's church volunteers once a month in our kitchen, so she learned about our clinic. After weeks of persuading, her daughter agreed to be seen.
Through a blood test it was discovered that her hemoglobin count was dangerously low. She was sent to a local hospital where she was diagnosed with extreme anemia and given six units of blood. It was also discovered that she needed a hysterectomy. In addition to physical care, Lee's daughter recieved counseling and follow up care through our clinic.
Lee knows that God led her to the much needed help for her daughter. "I was impressed with the way Kelley and the whole staff treated us with dignity and caring. I saw that with every person who came in that day. This facility & the people there are an answer to prayer for our community."
When she retires, Lee would like to give something back to the clinic by volunteering her time. If you or your group are interested in volunteering at the clinic, please contact Ashley Gerlach at 402-817-0980 or agerlach@peoplescitymission.org. |

We Need Your Help!
Last year we served 154,429 meals at our Shelter and gave
out over 700,000 pounds of food from our Distribution Center! This year there is a demand for more and we won't be able to do it without your.
In years past Dare2Share, an annual event for middle and high school students, had church youth groups attending their event go door to door collecting food for us. Last year they collected over 24,000 pounds of food! This year Dare2Share has decided to stop door to door programs and focus on other ministries, resulting in quite a shortage for us. We are in danger of not being able to provide much needed food to hungry people in our community.
Would you, your church, business or organization be interested in sponsoring a food drive for us? If so, please contact:

Gift to PCM a Witness of Faith
Pastor Tom recently received a handmade Jesus board with rope, special knots and captions of scripture that share the message of God's saving grace. Each element in the board has symbolic meaning, from the wood which represents the carpenter Jesus, to the rope fishermen use, to the knots which represent Christians who are tightly joined together to make up the body of Christ. Bill King, who lives in New Mexico, handcrafted the board and sent it to Pastor Tom as a gift and token of appreciation for his work serving the less fortunate in our community.
