Nebraska Leadership Conference Recap
The 2nd Annual People's City Mission Nebraska Leadership Conference held on 0ctober 8th was a huge success.  Over 125 people showed up to hear Doug Lipp speak about his experiences as being Disney's Head of Training.  His message of changing with the times and delivering exceptional customer service really registered with the attendees.  In fact one guest remarked, "This is the BEST conference I have ever attended!  Thank you!"

Guests also learned valuable business insight in the breakout session from Dr. Al Winseman, Rich Claussen, Alan Slattery, Ron Hampton.

We are very encouraged by the turnout and the positive remarks we received and look forward to hosting the NLC again in 2010!!!

Halloween Food Drive 2009

2009 Halloween Food Drive Next Week!

The city mission collected over twenty tons of food from the Dare 2 Share conference held in February. However, since the beginning of the year the People's City Mission has been running at full capacity with over 300 people being served daily. All of the food from the February food collection has been used.

The Halloween Food Drive which will take place on Saturday, October 31st is a collaboration between the People's City Mission and area partners, primarily youth groups and youth-focused organizations that go door to door collecting nonperishable food items.  The collected food is taken to the collection site at the Lancaster Event Center where there will be food, fun, inflatable games and a concert by the VOTA band (formerly Casting Pearls).

Food drive participants will canvas pre-designated neighborhoods on Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The food collected should be taken the collection site at the Lancaster Events Center at 6:45 p.m. where volunteers will load the food into trucks. At this time, participants will be given a ticket to enjoy food, drink and inflatable games inside the Multipurpose Arena. The Christian band, VOTA will be back this year and will perform at 7:30 p.m. The evening will conclude at 9:00 p.m.

To register your group or organization contact John Leonard Harris, Director of Church Relations at: 402-475-1303, ext. 130 or by email: jharris@peoplescitymission.org.
