Sincerity
"Be such as we appear and appear such as we are"

Never regret anything you have done with
a sincere affection; nothing is lost
that is born of the heart.

Updates

FINALLY.  At long last, we heard from the Embassy in Abidjan.

Ballet Saamato did not get their Artists Visas.

At least we can exhale.

Canadian Immigration authorities didn't feel convinced that the artists would return to Guinea at the end of their contract.
We did everything we could to assure them of this (This is difficult to prove in a country that doesn't have paper-trails in the way that Canada does).

We are heart-broken, of course, as are the artists.  We do plan to try again in the future.

Thank you for your support.

I am so grateful to everyone who helped.

What does this mean?

DENBAYA IS STILL ON!
Come drum & dance with our amazing (Canadian & American resident!) Guinean friends.

Performances and Workshops are cancelled.  We apologise for any inconvenience.

We appreciate your understanding.

 In a World with Borders,
Lynn on behalf of Saamato, Matoto & MoonDance

Monthly Challenge   *New*

Ok, so you read all the wellness articles.  And you want that!  To feel agile, energetic, light, content, peaceful.  But you need more of a push, more incentive, maybe a little competitiveness, even if just against yourself, to boost you!

Here's the new MoonDance challenge.  Each month there will be a new challenge.  Participate as you please.  There is no registration required (feedback welcome - maybe you want to be accountable to someone for these goals... I'm happy to create a no-fee registration if that's helpful!)

August:
7-day meditation challenge
Each day for one week, spend 15 minutes meditating.

This doesn't have to involve a particular school of thought (Transcendental Meditation, for example, or Mindfullness Meditation) or a new lifestyle or new friends.  It is simply doing nothing for 15 minutes
I know - harder than it sounds!

Overall, try to quiet your mind enough to access your deep inner wisdom.  Your ancestral self.  Your higher self.  Spirit.

Focus on breath or a mantra (word(s) or sounds) or an image.  This can help prevent your thoughts from wondering.  Watch them float by like clouds in the sky.  Seeing them, but not being attached to them.

Consider this a self-experiment - there is no right or wrong way.
JUST BE for 15 minutes.
These are our two awake states: Being and Doing.
Doing is important.  If we don't eat we die, right?!  But not making time for stillness is like burning the map for fuel.  It is our guidance system.  Directing the Doing if we listen.

Our natural state is one of ease.  Nature doesn't struggle for the flower to blossom or the seed to sprout.  Our true nature is one of effortless beauty.  We are Nature.  Not separate from it.

Cultivating an awareness of this inner quiet will help infuse your daily activities with a quality of peace and bliss.

Enjoy!
Let me know how it goes : o )

I will do it with you... I do meditate regularly, but not usually seven straight days in a row.  So I, too, am looking forward to this challenge.

Food For Thought

Crest of Sincerity

The Practice of
Sincerity

Sincerity is being open and genuine.  Our words and actions reflect a truthful heart.  People can trust that we mean what we say and say what we mean.  When we are sincere, our actions come from a pure intent.  We give for the sake of giving.  We are transparent.
We know it is enough simply to be ourselves.

In your day, invite these thoughts:

I am honest and open.
I speak truthfully.
My intentions are genuine.
I am content to be myself.

I am thankful for the gift of Sincerity.  It keeps life simple.
