Bob & Julie The power of JOY; the joy of DANCE My gratitude to everyone who completed the survey. It was SO helpful. (Congratulations to Cher who receives a MoonDance stainless steel water bottle). The survey will stay online, so you can still contribute your thoughts if you didn't already. The decision-making based on the survey results has been completed for now, but of course, we always love to hear from you! We want to continue making MoonDance the best dance community it can be!
With gratitude, Lynn

Julia Tsitsi Chigamba Zimbabwean Dance workshop
|
Zimbabwean Dance with Julia is a bridge between cultures, tribes, elders, youth, and ancestors, and seeks to introduce new cultural perspectives, strengthen positive aspects of heritage, and expand cultural imagination.
Julia Tsitsi Chigamba invites us to experience the true power of community through the context of traditional music and dance.
www.chinyakare.com
Wednesday August 4th 6:15 - 7:30pm Euro Studios 1821 Cook Street, Victoria $20
Julia's Collective, Tawanda muChinyakare, means "we are many, all in the deep tradition of the arts of our ancestors," in ChiShona, a native language of Zimbabwe. The phrase speaks of a profound unity experienced through living in harmony with the deep traditions of our ancestors.

Re-defining Wellness
| The article that has by far received the most positive feedback was Re-defining Health. Here's a reminder in a similar thought path...
 There are
times in our lives when it seems our bodies are running on empty. We
are not sick -- rather, the energy we typical enjoy has dissipated,
leaving only fatigue. Often people grow accustomed to feeling this way
because they do not know that it is possible to exist in any other
state.
The body's natural state, is one of energy, clarity, and
balance. Cultivating this in our own bodies so that we can
combat feelings of depletion is a matter of developing awareness of the self, and then making changes based on our observations.
A few moments of focused self-examination in which you assess your
recent schedule, diet, and general health may help you zero in on the
factors causing your depletion. Go to bed before 9pm for three nights in a row. Add nutritous foods to your diet, and especially be inclusive of raw foods. Focus on adding healthful things, rather than fighting yourself over the not-so-healthy things you "shouldn't" be having.
Since your earthly and ethereal forms are so intimately entwined,
matters of the mind and heart can take their toll on your physical self.
Intense emotions such as anger, sadness, jealousy, and regret need fuel
too, to
manifest in your consciousness. Conversely, a lack of mental and emotional stimulation
may leave you feeling listless and lethargic.
Meditation, exercise, living foods, community and friendships, are powerful methods of connecting to your spirit-self.
A harried lifestyle or a diet low in vital nutrients can
represent only one part of a larger issue affecting your mood, stamina,
and energy levels. When you believe that you are ultimately in control
of how you feel, you will be empowered to transform yourself and your
day-to-day life so that lasting fatigue can no longer gain a foothold in
your existence.

| Food For Thought |

The Practice of Flexibility
Flexibility is the ability to adapt and change amid the fluctuating circumstances of life. We go with the flow, seeing the choices, challenges, and opportunities in all that happens. We do not insist on our own way. We are opne to the opinions and feelings of others. When the unexpected comes, we rise to the challenge with resilience and confidence. We are willing to change unproductive habits. We seek imaginative ways of being in the World. The winds of change bend us but never break. We are ever growing stronger. We are willing to grow.
In your day, invite these thoughts:
I adapt when change is called for. I trust the course of my life. I find creative ways to solve problems. I accept the things I cannot change. I am in a constant state of growth. I am open to life's unexpected wonders.
I am thankful for the gift of Flexibility. It keeps my spirit lithe.
