Celestial Dance
Celestial Dancer
by Michelle Farrell

Thank you again so much to everyone who helped make our year-end performance such a success:
all the instructors, musicians, participants, and volunteers!  WOW!
View some pics of the show on our PHOTOS page.

Syzygy
...the most ancient dance
Earth and Moon
whirling along the celestial path
pulling closer, pushing farther
rising and falling tides
the heartbeat of the Earth.
There is heat.  There is energy.
Syzygy...
the Moon's Dance.

                With gratitude,
Lynn

Food For Thought

creativity

The Practice of Creativity

This is one of my favourite quotes.  I know you're probably seen it before, but I invite you to read it again - slowly - savour it.  Its stunning.  Its accurate.
This month I chose creativity because I'm having to be very creative coming up with the remaining funds for Ballet Saamato's flights.  And so van Goethe's quote speaks to me, no sings to me, right now!
Enjoy.
LW

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, the providence moves too...
Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
 ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Creativity is the power of imagination.
We are open to inspiration, which ignites our originality.
With creativity, we are resourceful and intuitive.
We solve problems in new and surprising ways.
We know how to play.
We take time for dreaming.
Discovering our own special talents is a gift to the World.

Creativity connects us to beauty of sound, movement, colour, design, ideas, words, and allows us to bring something new into the World.
Creativity brings our gifts to fruition.

note: this is not about being an artist, or any particular brand of creativity.  This is about sharing your gifts, whether its cooking, gardening, writing, problem-solving....

In your day, invite these thoughts:

I treasure my imagination.
I am innovative in solving problems.
I take time for inspiration.
I entertain my dreams.
I remember to play.
I develop my gifts through learning and discipline.
I dare to be original.

I am thankful for the gift of Creativity.  It allows the flower of my talents to bear fruit.
