The Piano School of NYC and the CLC Make Beautiful Music Together
This spring, the Community Learning Center and the Piano School of NYC worked together to provide small group instruction in piano. Classes were held after school at New City, Lakewood, and Woodglen Elementary Schools and on Saturdays at Felix Festa. In just a short period of time, students were ready to show off what they learned with many participating in a recital held at the Nyack Center. Students of all ages performed a variety of songs. Many of these aspiring pianists will continue their lessons this summer through the CLC. If you would like to learn how to play the piano, visit our online catalog at www.ccsd.edu/clc  or email the piano school at anna@pianoschoolofnyc.com

Link Community Celebrates Young Authors

Last week, Link hosted hundreds of guests - parents, grandparents, and district, community, and county leaders - anxious to hear student authors read their original works. Young Authors' Celebration is an annual week long event that provides all students with the opportunity to share their books with a variety of audiences. The topics selected by individual student authors represent "things of importance" to them. The variety of work included all genres. Throughout the week, many exciting activities occurred to commemorate this special occasion, including Classroom Authors' Tea and Buddy Readings with older grades reading to younger grades. We congratulate our children and are very proud of their achievements!
