| North High School Graduation Ceremony | ©sgrace |
The Clarkstown North graduation, scheduled for June 26 at North, will be modeled
after college graduations where white folding chairs are used for family members
rather than bleachers.
At the May 7, 2009 Board meeting, the Board of Education voted to approve
a bleacher lease for North High's field.
However, after examining the costs of the bleacher rental and knowing
the rental requires further cost over the summer while the bleachers will not
be used, the District instead opted for a much less expensive option saving
approximately $25,000.
Bleachers will be in place at North in time for the fall athletic season.

| CCSD Teachers Have Positive "IMPACT" on Education |
Our District is proud to announce that six Clarkstown teachers
have merited the honor of winning a Westchester/Rockland IMPACT II Developer
Award for 2008-9. The award honors innovative teachers who create exemplary
classroom-based programs. Winning projects are particularly outstanding in that
all applicants are required to demonstrate how their program supports the New
York State Learning Standards and aligning performance indicators. The
teachers were honored at an awards ceremony on May 14, 2009. Each received an
Impact II Developer Grant.
Congratulations to all. |
