Every Mother Should Have a Voice A Place to Share Your Blog
Stories can help us to grow as women, mothers, and parents. And stories are meant to be shared! As an added benefit to our members, the NAMC has established a page on their Mothers Central blog called MC Voices.
Do You Have a Blog? If you do, make sure to submit a request via the MC Voices* page. If it's approved it will be added to our blog directory! It is FREE for NAMC members!
If You Don't Have a Blog... MC Voices is still a great place to visit! Read member blogs and NAMC "Staff Picks".
Start by checking out the story from NAMC staff member Kate Fineske: A Mother's Voice on the Mothers Central Blog and then consider adding your own story to our collection via the new MC Voices Blog Directory page!
*All blog submissions subject to NAMC approval first. |

Date/Time: Tuesday, January 24th, 2011, 1 to 2 PM ET
Presented by: Pete Carney, LMSW Director, Pride for Youth, Long Island Crisis Center
Images of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender youth are increasingly regular images in our media and current pop culture. Young people are developing an understanding and awareness of their sexual orientation and gender identity at increasingly younger ages.
This webinar aims to explore:
- The nature of sexual orientation and gender identity ranging from early childhood to adolescence
- Disparities faced by LGBT youth in school systems and their larger communities
- Recommendations for how to create "safe spaces" where youth can explore their sexual orientation and gender identity and LGBT identified youth can find support.
To register, click here. If you have any difficulties registering, contact Lisa Kaplan-Miller or call 877-939- 6667 ext 106.
Webinars are free to NAMC and Mothers' Center members. Non-member fee is $20. Join the NAMC for $35 and get a year's worth of webinars for free.
