Sustaining Your Pilates Work
The Importance of Self Practice: Why self practice is the best way to get more out of your Pilates and your money.
Self practice is one of the most important foundations of Pilates. Joseph Pilates wanted the work to be accessible to anyone, anywhere, hence the strength and effectiveness of the mat repetoire. Self practice in the studio is equally if not more valuable and is a meaningful and powerful way of bridging what you do in classes and sessions with what you do at home or on the road.
Pilates is meant to be a practice, a relationship we develop with our bodies that we dedicate time and attention to. We all know that there is only so much time in the day and -- especially now -- only so much money we can spend doing our private Pilates and classes. Self practice in the studio allows you to access the equipment and teachers however it fits best into your schedule.
With a program that is specific to your needs you can use the studio to practice what you do with your teacher.
- You will gain and sustain strength and flexibility.
- You will progress more quickly.
- You will be able to advance in the work with the help of Open Studio teacher's advice and guidance.
- You will be able to see the benefits of regular practice in vitality, energy and overall well being more immediately and consistently.
Self practice should be in your program whether it's at home or in the studio. Pilates is meant to be practiced. The more you practice easeful habits and patterns in your body the sooner they become your default. Prevent injury, pain and stiffness with a dedicated Pilates practice. Let us provide the space!
