Supporting International Efforts
SWHPN has signed on to the 'Joint Declaration & Statement of Commitment' issued by the International Association for Hospice & Palliative Care, the Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance, and other organizations around the world. This is the first 'Joint Declaration' ever to be developed and signed by leading international organizations in palliative care, hospice, pain, cancer, HIV/AIDS and other fields. Read the full story.
American Cancer Society funds new palliative care research August 20th, 2008 - The American Cancer Society has announced a request for proposals in patient-oriented palliative care research. It is anticipated that a total of $500,000 will be available for 5 to 10 applications selected through the ACS peer review system. The application deadline is October 15th, 2008.
