Return To Vietnam!

I am back and hopefully back to normal after being in Vietnam for a few weeks. It was a joy to be able to go visit my friends in Vietnam after almost two years. All of them were surprised to see me and couldn't wait to hear how my life has been in America.

My friend Ben and I were able to deliver 10 boxes of cocoa mix and 10 bags of chocolate chips to the Sozo bakery. Thao was super excited about it and is doing well. She is still operating the shop with the support of two supervisors who are doing a wonderful job. They are taking on more responsibility and are now running the shop with minimal supervision from the foreign team. Two students have come to know the Lord and are now teaching the Alpha course to the staff! Sozo said thank you for the gifts that were given.

We got a chance to deliver other items that were donated such as: Nerf balls, crayons, bubbles, toothbrushes, and toothpaste to a few orphanages in Vietnam.

Vietnamese orphans

They were grateful for what we were able to bring them. Each orphan gets the chance to learn English, go to school and learn about God. They were all so polite and well minded, even more so than some kids we meet in America! These children spend their childhood in an orphanage with no mom or dad to love them, but they receive love from the workers. They are joyful even though they do not have a mother or father to raise them. Please keep them in your prayers as the workers raise these children and teach them about the Lord. Pray they come to know God and serve Him all the days of their lives. Pray there will be enough support for the workers to continue caring for orphans at the orphanage.

More Missionaries-God Appointed!

We were able to meet a missionary couple, Nhut and Oneka, who are reaching out to the locals in Vietnam. They live in Cambodia, but travel to Vietnam and the surrounding countries to recruit people to take 8 months out of their lives to attend a Bible college in the Philippines. Nhut grew up in a Buddhist family so when became a Christian he faced persecution from his family. Sometimes they would not speak with him and told him he "knows better than to follow another God". Nhut stood firm in his belief in Jesus and continued to show love to his family even though they disowned him. Over time his family began to notice the change in him. When his mother and father saw this, their hearts became softened and they began to treat Nhut with respect even though they still served Buddha. Nhut is now able to go to his parent's house and is welcomed with open arms. He has begun to speak more about Jesus to his family. Pray for them as they reach out to their family and the Vietnamese.

Thu & Jocelyn
Thu & Jocelyn

I am excited to share that Thu (the Vietnamese girl I was teaching English and Bible to) will be joining Nhut and Oneka at the Bible college in June! This is a huge step for Thu to leave Vietnam to go study about a Creator she is still not sure about serving. Pray she will come to know the Lord and that every step of the way she will be protected.

I have attached pictures of the orphanage, Thao, Thu and also the couple we were able to meet.

Thank you all for your prayers, support and donations towards this trip.
