Hello! We are having a lovely cool winter in Far North Queensland! What a delight not to use the air conditioning but have cool breezes every day! The cane fields are ripe and ready for harvest! They stand tall, ready to be reaped, and sent to the mill, where it will be processed, refined, and sent out to fulfil its purpose. We look at Cairns and the surrounding areas and see that they too are ripe and ready for harvest! As we are reaching the lost, they are being reaped for the Kingdom of God, they are being processed through the revelation of redemption, and refined by the Holy Spirit. Then they are going out and fulfilling their purpose; to reach others!!!

 

As we mentioned in last month's newsletter, we have been seeing great results in the outreaches in Mareeba and Mooroobool. New believers are being filled with the Holy Spirit and receiving boldness to witness to others.  

 

   

One woman described it this way; "I couldn't sit there, not knowing if the one next to me was saved. I turned the T.V. off and said 'Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?" They didn't, so I explained it to them and they prayed with me!  

 

2I just want to do it more and more!" This is what happens when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus said that when we receive the Holy Spirit , we would receive power to be witnesses of Him. Also, we receive the ability to understand the Bible clearly. A woman from the outreach in Mareeba said "When I read the Bible, I don't want to stop. I just want to go back and read it again!" Praise God! These believers are growing spiritually!

Two women who are from Hopevale (an Indigenous community approx five hours north of Cairns) were saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and seeing God do wonderful things in their lives.  

 

They returned to Hopevale, and everyone kept asking them why they are so different. They physically looked different. This is what they said; "When we left Hopevale to come here, we were drinking all the time. We didn't care about anything. We just thought 'what's the point'? But when we got Jesus, we quit all that. Now we love everyone and want them to have this too! We are excited about God and tell everyone what He did for them!" Hallelujah! Nothing makes us happier!! People are branching out from the vine and bearing fruit!

Sept 19th -24th We will be holding a youth camp for Indigenous youth ages 13-18. We have teenagers from Cairns, Yarrabah, Mareeba, Mooroobool, Atherton, and Babinda signed up to attend this camp! This is an evangelistic camp. Many of these teens have never been in a church before. This is not common in this area.

We were offered the use of camp grounds and asked by another church to do a youth camp. We are very excited about this opportunity!

Many of these teens are from broken homes, have been in trouble, and who feel hopeless and lost.

This will be a powerful time of ministering to them, seeing them saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and set free of addictions and shame.  

 

 

 

 

Please be praying with us that no weapon set against it will prosper, and that these teenagers will be greatly impacted and receive a fire for God that they will take back to their communities and will cause them to reach their generation!
