Haiti Disaster Relief

January 16, 2010

Greetings!

As you read this letter, Haiti is in desperate need. So many reports of death and severe loss constantly consume the airwaves. The news is bursting with the utter devastation.

Haiti mapMissionary and founder of Love A Child ministry in Haiti, Bobby Burnette experienced first-hand the violent quake without any harm and was able to tell reports of these facts soon afterward:  "The precious people of Haiti are in total disaster! People could be heard screaming and crying for help all through the night. Those who were not severely injured walked the streets singing, praying and thinking that Jesus was coming. There are people injured and dead in areas just outside the compound where we live. The children in the orphanage slept outside through the first night. They were afraid to go back into the buildings for fear of them collapsing. There are a number of hospitals that are simply crumbled cement  and steel. "

lee sullivanAs horrendous as it appears, God has had His hand upon many. Where all other buildings collapsed, missionary Lee Sullivan told us that his orphanage compound in Mariani, a suburb of Port au Prince, had no damage to it at all! The children in the orphanage are all fine and they are now caring for an overwhelming 800 people seeking refuge within their walls. We are preparing for the relief efforts by supporting those who we have had long-term, trusted relationships with in Haiti, but we can not succeed with out your prayer, as well as continued financially undergirding for the new challenges that lay ahead.

Haiti Partners

brycesFEED A CHILD is an active mission in Haiti, founded by Eldon and Donna Bryce, who are dedicated to the poorest people in our hemisphere. The Bryce's provide over 15,000 hot meals per month to hungry children, conduct medical clinics, usually in connection with one of their nine churches, and educate children. Other outreaches of their ministry include evangelism training in a different church each month, building houses for the homeless, and building churches and schools in mountain and jungle areas.

GeoBound has partnered with these two ministries for several years in building projects, evangelism, orphanage support and feeding programs. Please join us in prayer and financial support to assist our Haiti ministry partners and their disaster response efforts and rebuilding.
